Ian Johnston

Following his degree course at the University of Lancaster, Ian gained a post-graduate Diploma in Management Studies from Bristol University. He began his career in the Financial Services industry in 1988 as a management trainee with a major building society before becoming an Independent Financial Adviser in 1993.
Ian gained further experience with a national firm of Independent Financial Advisers before joining Peter Cooper in 1997 at the same regional firm in the capacity of Senior Financial Planning Consultant.

Ian has gained advanced levels of industry qualifications in key areas including taxation, trusts, investment and pensions, and he holds the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (AFPC).
Ian is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with the Institute of Financial Planning, an internationally recognised qualification and standard. There are just over 600 CFP licence holders in the UK, who are widely acknowledged as being the leading exponents of client focused impartial advice.
Ian advises across the full range of financial planning areas with the emphasis on holistic financial planning solutions for private and corporate clients. This involves investment planning and taxation mitigation, including inheritance tax planning, for post-retired clients and retirement, financial and investment planning for pre-retired clients. This holistic approach ensures that he can help clients' meet their objectives and aspirations in the most tax efficient manner.
